Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro is the capital of the state and is located in the Northeast territory of Brazil.

The area of the state Rio is 27.11 sqm and includes 92 Regions.

The average temperature of the year is about 76° F.

Rio de Janeiro is the city most visited by tourists in Brazil. The beauty of the city explains everything. In the city you find 17th Century artifacts and architecture.  Many of the museums explain the history of Brazil and their struggles for freedom from the past kingdoms.

1960 Rio de Janeiro was even the capital of Brazil before the government moved to Brasilia.

Corcovado – Cristo Redentor
The hill where the Corcovado was built is located in about 2,330 feet high in the hill region called CARIOCA.  This is where the people have obtained their name – from the cariocas.

At the peak, the magnificant christ figure was built between 1926 and 1931 from Heitor da Silva Costa. The figure was created by Paul Landoviski.

Pão de Açúcar  – Sugar Loaf
Located in the bay Guanabra and can be visited by via a cable car. The sugar loaf has a height of 1,300 ft and is the main spot for tourists. From the top you have a panoramic view encompassing the city and the sea.

Praia de Ipamena – Ipamena Beach
In this part of the city the famous song “Garota da Ipanema” (the girl of Ipanema) was created. Ipanema is most famous for its spirited nightlife and attractions.

But the truth is different. The soul of the Cariocas people lives in Ipanema.  As soon as you step into the streets of Ipanema, you will be transformed by the intensive essence of this city and the people who created its spirit.
