Niterói

Niterói is located in the eastern part of the Bay of Guanabra located in the front of the huge bridge of Rio de Janeiro.  Surrounded by hills on one side and the South Atlantic Ocean on the other, offers a spectacular picturesque backdrop.
The name Niteroi is derived from Indians and symbolizes singing bay or singing port.

The views to Rio and the sugar loaf as well as to the Corcovada is magnificent to say the least.

Niteroi is an ideal place to stay while visiting Rio without actually staying within the city.  There is both a boat transfer from Niteroi to Rio or via car over the bridge, Presidente Costa e Silva, more popularly known as bridge Rio – Niteroi.
