Located in the south east of the country approximately 160 Miles away from Rio, Búzios has about 23,000 inhabitants. The official name is “Armação de Búzios“ (Búzios for short). The name is derived from ancient whale hunting. Once the whales were caught, the animals and their products were stored in this city.
